- Tired Flag Rate: A multi-bracket Unit Price threshold-base model where reaching specific Unit Price triggers a new rate for the entire base Amount. Once a unit price milestone is reached, the higher commission rate is applied retroactively to all units/dollars within that period.
- Progressive Tier Rate: A multi-bracket Unit Price threshold-based model where different rates apply only to the portion of sales falling within specific slices. Commissions are calculated incrementally based on unit price. This eliminates payout cliffs and ensures the company only pays higher rates on the incremental revenue.
- Commission Accrual Posting: When a sales document is posted, the system evaluates the applicable commission matrix rule and generates an internal accrual entry to debit commission expense (income statement) and accrued commission liability (balance sheet). If a sales invoice is credited or returned, the system automatically reverses the accrued commission, ensuring the liability is cleared and the expense is adjusted. Upon final approval and payment of commissions, the system “clears” the Accrued Liability account and moves the balance to the bank or accounts payable.
